Pathsala: Residents of Pathsala in Bajali district are facing sleepless nights as the mosquito population has surged due to prolonged dry weather conditions. With no rainfall recorded in the past few months, stagnant water in drains and other water bodies has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, worsening the situation. People across various localities have reported an increase in mosquito bites, making it difficult to work and sleep at night.

“We cannot rest properly even after using mosquito nets and repellents. The situation is getting worse day by day,” said a resident of Pathsala. The dry season has led to water accumulation in small, unnoticed areas, creating ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes. Residents are urging the authorities to take immediate action, including conducting fumigation drives and ensuring proper waste disposal, to control the mosquito population.

Meanwhile, health experts have advised citizens to keep their surroundings clean, prevent water stagnation, and use mosquito repellents to protect themselves. With no signs of rain in the near future, people are hoping for urgent measures to bring relief from this growing problem.
