MP Jairam Ramesh addresses media expressed anger for not allowing Rahul Gandhi and his team to visit the Barduwa Than

Morigaon: The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reached Baghara’s Galsepa under Jagiroad constituency in the Morigaon district on Monday.  The Yatra was ready to enter the birth place of saint Sankardeva’ Barduwa Than but it was disrupted at Nagaon.

A press meet in keeping with the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra programme was held which was addressed by MP Jairam Ramesh. Addressing the media persons, the MP expressed anger for not allowing Rahul Gandhi and his team to visit the Barduwa Than. “Despite our repeated requests, the district administration refused to provide Rahul Gandhi permission to visit Barduwa Than. We also appealed the Nagaon administration to allow the local MLA of Batradroba constituency Sibamoni Bora and MP Gaurav Gogoi to make a visit to the Than but the district administration did not show any sympathy with us which was really disrespectful. Addressing the media MP Gaurav Gogoi also expressed dissatisfaction. Later, Rahul Gandhi met the leaders of the district committee. Without addressing  the people and media persons he moved to Shillong, Meghalaya via Jagiroad.
