MSME Conclave Udyam 2023 underway in Tangla

TANGLA: In a bid to provide impetus to the entrepreneurial activities in the State and to address the various challenges being faced by the MSME sector, the Department of Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises hosted a five-day Udyam 2023, a MSME conclave covering Udalguri and Darrang districts, which is underway at Tangla in Udalguri district.

The five-day-long event, which was inaugurated by State Industries and Commerce and Public Affairs Minister, Bimal Borah on Wednesday, will conclude on March 5. The event portrays exhibition-cum-sale of various products produced by MSMEs of Udalguri and Darrang, seminars, trainings and workshops on various topics such a bee-keeping and honey processing, potential of Agri tourism, marketing skills for rural micro enterprises, Eri-rearing and related entrepreneurial activities, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Bimal Borah asserted that through entrepreneurship activities and growth of MSME sectors, the unemployed youths would find livelihood to sustain themselves and the MSME sector would also provide them a market for their goods. He further stated that spiritual awakening and thoughts were needed to make the society healthy. Mangaldoi Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia thanked the government for organizing the event in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, which will go a long way in helping interested youths take up entrepreneurial activities and create employment opportunities as well as help strengthen the economy. The event was also attended by Sipajhar MLA Paramananda Rajbongshi; BTC EM Diganta Baruah; and Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Dr Sadnek Singh.
