Municipal Polls: AGP wins Barpeta Municipality Board

A CORRESPONDENT

BARPETA: Among the 22 wards of Barpeta Municipality Board, AGP won 11 seats and was able to capture Barpeta Municipality for the third time. On the contrary BJP won 9 seats and two Independent candidates covered two seats. This time Congress and Jatiya Parishad were fully defeated.

On the otherhand, Barpeta Road Municipality Board was won by BJP. Among the 10 wards, in 2 wards BJP candidates won without any contest and the other 8 seats were covered by BJP only. It may be mentioned that last time also Barpeta Road MB was under the capture of BJP.
