GOLAGHAT: Total 88 nomination papers of Dergaon and Golaghat Municipal Board were filed by various parties till Monday. In a press statement, DIPRO Golaghat said that the nomination papers will be reviewed on February 17. The last day of withdrawal nomination is February 20. On March 6 the votes will be cast from 8 am and the counting of votes will be done on March 9 from 8 am.
All the necessary preparations have already been done by the district administration to ensure that the polling is completed smoothly. A total of 61 polling stations have been set up at the Golaghat sub-division for Dergaon and Golaghat Municipal Board. There are 39 polling stations in Golaghat and 22 polling stations have been set up at Dergaon.
There are 32,655 voters in the Golaghat Municipal Board. Out of which 16,138 are men and 16,517 are women. The total number of voters in the Dergaon Municipal Board is 19,083. Out of which 9,716 are men and 9367 are women. The election will be held through EVM instead of ballot papers. Along with the Golaghat subdivision, Municipal Election in Dhansiri, Barpathar and Sarupathar will be held.
