'My Relationship With Congress Is Not Going To End Overnight', Says CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that he runs 50% of the Congress as the leaders and youth from the party comes to him for advice

GUWAHATI : Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma recently made a comment on his relationship with the opposition party, Congress. The minister while explaining his statement, asserted that even though his is now a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), his equation with the Congress has not changed very much.
He said he has been a part of the party since past 22 years and the relationship is not going to end overnight. He further stated that, 50% of the Congress is run by him, emphasising on the fact many leaders and party members come to him for advice on various issues. He selflessly shares his views with them without charging a single penny, added the CM.
He further mentioned that he has shown the path to many youths and aspirant politicians in the political world. The BJP leader then shed light on Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.
He stated that currently, there is no election scenario in Assam so there's no point of putting the opposition party down. Just like security and assistance was provided to the Maharashtra ministers recently, Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra will also get cooperation and security from the state.
Later he also mentioned about the visit of Mr Kharge, who will be assisted and provided security by the concerned department of Assam.
However, the CM slammed the Congress for trying to create an issue in the Parliament regarding the clash between Indian army and Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh on 9th of December. The Congress had demanded discussion in the parliament and claimed that the statement passed by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh was 'incomplete'.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also suggested to restrict any sort of discussion related to the clash in public as he thinks that the Chinese might get an upper hand after analysing the discussion by the Indians. He concluded the topic with one statement, 'we stand with our army'.
