GOLAGHAT: The naam prasanga for the month of Bhada in the holy shrine Sri Sri Athkhelia Namghar started on Thursday, which is the first day of the Assamese calendar month of Bhada.
Sri Sri Athkhelia Namghar is a holy shrine in Assam. Devotees from all corners of Assam and the Northeast visit Athkhelia Namghar during the holy month of Bhada. Athkhelia Namghar has always occupied a very important place in the hearts of Assamese people. The Athkhelia Namghar is situated at a distance of about 20 km from Golaghat town.
The managing committee of the Athkhelia Namghar said that naam prasanga is done four times -in the morning, afternoon, evening and night - every day during the month of Bhada. Every day a huge number of devotees throng the holy shrine. During the previous years in the holy month of Bhada, Athkhelia Namghar witnessed a crowd of around 15 lakh devotees every year. Suitable arrangements have been made this year also to accommodate such a large number of devotees.
