Nagaon Forest Division seizes illegal timber worth several thousand rupees

JAGIROAD: The Forest Range Officer of Dharamtul under the Nagaon Forest Division, in association with staff, on Tuesday seized illegal timber worth several thousand rupees. Illegal timber logs from Amsoi under Dharamtul Forest Range were allegedly carried in bicycles by some scrupulous timber smugglers. After getting information, the forest officials raided the area and seized the illegal timber and five bicycles. However, the timber smugglers managed to escape.
