Nagaon town police arrests drug smugglers with around 20 gm heroin

NAGAON: Nagaon town police, led by SI G Mahanta, arrested two smugglers, including a woman, on Tuesday night from Kolongpar Jail Road in Nagaon town. Police seized around 20 gm heroin, cash Rs 10,000 and 140 small plastic containers from their possession. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Achiya Begum and Sharid Ullah of Kolongpar Jail Road. Police sources said that the town police had information about heroin being sold in the house of Achiya Begum. Police launched a drive and were able to arrest two drug smugglers, including the woman, along with heroin, cash and other items from the house.
