Naharkatia Anchalik committee AASU demands immediate repair of dilapidated roads

Naharkatia: The Naharkatia Anchalik committee AASU organized an hour-long road blockade near Buridihing Bridge in protest against the dilapidated condition of the Tingrai- Naharkatia, Naharkatia-Moran, Naharkatia via Joypur-Arunachal road.

More than hundreds of students of the Naharkatia Anchalik committee shouted slogans and demanded early repair of the road. AASU central cultural secretary Anil Gogoi and AASU Dibrugarh district secretary Shankarjyoti Baruah were present in the protest.

A memorandum was submitted to State PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Naharkatia MLA through the Circle Officer, Naharkatia Revenue Circle.

Mandip Pawar of Naharkotia AASU said that if the department concerned did not respond and fulfilled their demand, they would intensify their agitation.

On the other hand, PWD Dibrugarh assured AASU Naharkatia regional unit in an official letter that from August 8, the work of repairing the specified roads will be done.
