National Democratic Front of Boroland (S) Cadre, Two Linkmen Apprehended

TANGLA/Kalaigaon: Based on specific input, the security forces in a joint operation apprehended an NDFB (S) cadre from No. 2 Merabil area under Mazbat Police Station in Udalguri on Monday evening. Reportedly, a team of Mazbat Police along with troops of Army and Cobra commandos busted the hideout of the cadre who has been identified as Geremsa Basumatary and on further interrogation, the cadre revealed that he was in possession of explosive materials. The security forces also recovered one Indian grenade and one Chinese grenade from the farm land behind his house.

Based on his confessions, the security forces also apprehended two suspected linkmen from Mazbat railway station who boarded a train from Hugrajuli purportedly for extortion purpose. They have been identified as Boronda Narzary and Geolang Basumatary and Rs.59,775 cash was also recovered from the possession of the latter. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the trio at Mazbat PS.
