National Health Mission organized COVID awareness rally in Darrang

MANGALDAI: With a view to create awareness among all sections of the society in view of the alarming situation arising out of COVID-19, the National Health Mission (NHM) Darrang on Wednesday organized an awareness rally throughout the main thoroughfare of the district headquarters town.

Frontline COVID warriors like medical officers, employees of NHM and ASHA activists, displaying banners and placards and with the public address system, appealed to people to strictly follow the COVID protocol to save the lives of their near and dear ones, besides self. Darrang Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, while flagging off the awareness rally in front of the office of Joint Director of Health Services, said that the district administration would take stern action on the erring persons for violation of COVID protocol. He also appreciated the frontline COVID warriors, namely the officials of the health department, para medicos and nurse, police and media persons of the district for their role in fighting against COVID-19.

Officiating Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Jadu Moni Kataki, Additional CM &HO Dr. Nirmal Beria and Dr. Malabika Gogoi also took part in the rally.
