National-level workshop on trends in Intellectual Property Rights

UGC-approved Ghandhi Study Centre of Jhanji Hem Nath Sarmah College in Sivasagar district organized a national level weeklong workshop on Trends in Intellectual Property Rights in Indian Context in joint association with Assam Women’s University, Jorhat and Dikhowmukh College which successfully concluded on Wednesday.

GAURISAGAR: UGC-approved Ghandhi Study Centre of Jhanji Hem Nath Sarmah (HNS) College in Sivasagar district organized a national level weeklong workshop on Trends in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Indian Context in joint association with Assam Women’s University (AWU), Jorhat and Dikhowmukh College which successfully concluded on Wednesday. The inaugural function was conducted by Dr.Manjit Gogoi, principal, Jhanji HNS college while professor Debabrata Das, vice chancellor, Assam, Rajib Gandhi Cooperative Management University gave the inaugural speech.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr.Kishore Kumar Sarmah, professor, Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat. The inaugural function was anchored by Dr.Basanta Hondique, assistant professor of Jhanji HNS college-cum-coordinator of the workshop. Dr.Ranjit Kumar Baruah, principal, Dikhowmukh college and Dr.Partha Protim Borah, assistant professor, Assam Womens University graced the inaugural meeting.

In the first technical session, Dr. Partha Protim Borah stressed on insights into IPR. Similarly, in the five days of the workshop held virtually. Dr. Deepjyoti Kalita, assistant professor, Library and Information science, Cotton University, Guwahati spoke about IPR for digital academic contents and research and publication ethics. Dr,Sauravi Borthakur, assistant professor, department of commerce, Cotton University, Guwahati emphasized on importance of IPR in present economy.
