National Panchayati Raj Day celebrated at Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: The National Panchayati Raj Day 2022 was celebrated with a daylong programme at Sivasagar Yuva Dal Auditorium recently. The day was observed under the aegis of Sivasagar Zila Parishad, which was inaugurated by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal by lighting a lamp in front of the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. It was attended by Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain, Sivasagar Zila Parishad president Dhrubajyoti Maut, social worker Bhabendra Nath Mohan, all BDOs of Sivasagar district, representatives of various panchayats and employees of the rural development department.
Addressing the meeting, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner stressed on focusing and establishing the dream Panchayati Raj of Mahatma Gandhi in the society. MLA Sushanta Borgohain, Bhabendra Nath Mohan and Dr Dishant Dutta also delivered speeches on successful implementation of Panchayati Raj system. Earlier, Sivasagar Zila Parishad's Chief Executive Officer Ashwini Doley spoke on the significance of Panchayati Raj Day.
