National Science Day-2020 was observed at Lakhimpur Polytechnic

LAKHIMPUR: The National Science Day-2020 was observed at Lakhimpur Polytechnic, located at Borpothar, Bihpuriya with a program organized in a befitting manner on Friday.

The programme was partnered by Child Help Foundation of Mumbai. Students from over 15 schools of the area participated in the program which began with the lighting of ceremonial lamps by Principal Sadananda Gogoi. The science model competition event organized on the occasion was inaugurated by Kherajkhat HS School Principal Bipul Das.

Ripunjoy Bordoloi, an activist who has been trying to popularize science, in association with Angshuman Hazarika, presented an attractive program on his domain organized under the auspices of Scientific Temperament, the first online science magazine in the Assamese language published from Biswanath. Paran Chandra Deka graced the occasion as guest of honor who laid stress on popularizing science in every nook and corner of the State and wiping out superstition from the society.

A quiz competition was organized under the management of polytechnic faculty Hiteswar Baruah, Pranita Saikia, Kankana Deuri, Sanjukta Deka and Dimpimoni Kalita. In the competition, Jigyasa Jatiya Bidyalaya came first while two teams of Harmoti Jatiya Bidyalaya bagged second and third prize respectively. In science model competition, Jigyasa Jatiya Bidyalaya secured first prize, Harmoti Jatiya Bidyalaya bagged second prize while Kherajkhat HS School appeared as the third team of the event.
