Nava Sanjivani felicitates meritorious students in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Nava Sanjivani, a non-governmental organization of Lakhimpur working for employment generation and betterment of the needy people, felicitated a total of 165 meritorious students who passed the HSLC and HS final exams securing more than 75 per cent marks. Like the previous years, the NGO on Tuesday feted these students living under Naoboicha LAC of the district with a bundle of books and a citation.

A ceremonial programme was organized at Sonapur Pukhuriya HS School premises and it began with Nava Sanjivani president Gangajyoti Tayegam in the chair. Former director of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship and present Managing Director of NERAMAC, Manoj Das, engineer Dilip Borah who works in Dubai, Sonapur Pukhuriya HS School Principal Pradip Kataki, and other dignitaries took part in the programme as guests of honour.

Prior to it, a career counselling programme was organized under the management of Nava Sanjivani secretary Gopal Gogoi. Principal of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, Tezpur University professor Debabrat Sarmah and LTK College professor Kandarpa Chamuah took part in the programme as resource persons along with Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) student Abhijit Borah who secured the 6th rank in the State in the HSLC exam in 2015.

Attending the programme, Dr. Biman Chetia suggested the students to work hard with conviction to achieve expected success in life. "A remarkable change has come to the education system with the new education policy. Our students must study hard to face the tough competition which is seen while building a successful career," he said.
