JORHAT: Lion Navnit Singh Padam was sworn in as the new president of Lions Club of Jorhat. The swearing in ceremony, which was conducted virtually was attended by a good number of Lions luminaries, invited guests and members of the club. The chief guest cum installation officer of the ceremony was Lion Dr. Raju Manwani from Mumbai, who is a Past International Director of Lions International. The District Governor of Lions International District 322D, Lion Lalita R Khadaria, Vice District Governors 1 & 2, also graced the occasion, in person. Lion Amit Ranjan Roy, took over as the Club Secretary, while Lion Prabir Saikia was inducted as the new Treasurer.

It is worth mentioning here that the members of the club are very optimistic with Lion Padam and his entire team as he happens to be the youngest President of this prestigious 56 year old club. Lions Eye Hospital is a Flagship project of the club with over 56 thousand eye surgeries under its belt. The latest permanent project of the club is Open Air Gymnasium at Borpatra Ali, Jorhat, has also proved to be a feather in the cap of the club, considering the high foot fall. The club has responded to the distress call of the administration by providing covered waiting arena, chairs and drinking water to the COVID vaccine beneficiaries, stated a press release.
