HAFLONG: The NC Hills Autonomous Council session was conducted on Friday while maintaining social distancing norms for preventing the spread of COVID-19 at the District Library Auditorium, Haflong.

A number of questions were tabled which were satisfactorily replied by the Chief Executive Member, Debolal Gorlosa and also the Executive Members concerned. In a historic record of the Autonomous Council of Dima Hasao since 1952, a supplementary grant was passed on Friday by the house for pension of former members, EMs and CEMs of autonomous council. Demand was placed amounting to Rs. 19, 50,000 for the former members and Rs. 5,00,000 for CEMs and EMs of the council required in course of payment for the year ending March 31, 2020-21.

When asked about the progress regarding the Gunjung- Maibang road by Haflong MAC Daniel Langthasa, CEM Debolal Gorlosa said that the work order had already been completed and the construction work would begin with an additional amount from the MLA scheme.

Garampani MAC Joysing Durong also questioned various issues pertaining to Umrangso and Garampani area regarding land, water crisis issues and road which were satisfactorily replied by the CEM and the Executive Members concerned. With the end of the session, chairpersonRanuLangthasa adjourned the House sine die.
