NDMA team visits flood-affected areas across Kamrup district

RANGIA: A high-level team from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), headed by Sandeep Paudrik, Additional Secretary of NDMA, and SK Pradhan, Joint Director Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, visited flood-affected areas, especially Rangia Solmari and Palashbari of Kamrup district, and took stock of the flood damage.

They also met all heads of departments of Kamrup district to assess the last flood situation at a district-level meeting held at the conference hall of the office of the SDO (C), Rangia on Tuesday where Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup district, KailashKarthik N, and Subdivisional Officer (Civil) of Rangia subdivision, Swapneel Paul, along with other officials from PWD, Water Resource and State Disaster Management were present.

Paudrik said that the Central Government had directed them to visit and take stock of the flood-affected areas on request from the State Government. They will submit the report to the Central Government after the review.
