Nepali translation of Kaykalpa released by Gyan Bahadur Chhetry in Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: The prestigious Saraswati award winning Assamese novel Kaykalpa by Dr. Lakshminandan Bora, which was translated into the Nepali language by an emerging writer, Chatraman Subba, was released by Gyan Bahadur Chhetry at function held at Dighali ME School near Jamugurihat on Sunday.

The book release function was chaired by Rudra Baral, chief secretary, Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha, was organized maintaining COVID 19 protocol. The translated book was formally unveiled by Gyan Bhadur Cherty, an eminent critic and former member of the advisory committee of Nepali section of the Sahitya Akademi.

Releasing the book, Chetry focused on the value of translation works which help in exchanging literary styles, understanding each other and bridging a mutual understanding amongst different races and communities as well. In the meeting, district best teacher awardee Bishnu Shastri was felicitated. Dilliram Khanal, president of Sonitpur district Nepali Sahitya Sabha, and Chandramoni Upadhayaya, chairman of Asom Nepali Natya Sammelan, addressed the occasion.
