New Commissioner of Industries and Commerce Suttumali Subbaiah Meenakshi Sundaram takes charge at Bamunimaidam in Guwahati

MANGALDAI: Commissioner of Lower Assam Division, Suttumali Subbaiah Meenakshi Sundaram, a senior IAS officer of Assam cadre, on Tuesday took over as the Commissioner of Industries and Commerce with its office at Bamunimaidam in Guwahati.

Immediately after taking over, he convened a meeting of all the officers and staff and appealed to them to concentrate on bringing a work culture with utmost dedication and commitment towards the State and its people. All the officials and staff accorded him a rousing welcome.

Sundaram earlier had rendered his dedicated service towards the people of Udalguri as the Deputy Commissioner in a very crucial period which had witnessed the unprecedented ethnic group clash. He was successful in tackling the law-and-order situation in restoring normalcy with active cooperation from the police, army and all sections of the society. He also served as the Deputy Commissioner in Tinsukia and Sivasagar district and headed the Social Welfare department as Director.
