New executive committee of Assam Science Society Tinsukia branch

TINSUKIA: A new executive committee of Assam Science Society (ASS) Tinsukia Branch was reconstituted with the life members of the branch in a meeting at Tinsukia College on Saturday.

A 10-member executive committee was formed with Dr Rajib Bordoloi, former principal of Women’s College Tinsukia as president, Bhadreswar Choudhury, Dr Dipeeka Bhattacharjee, Dr Sushmita Chakraborty and Dr Bulbul Gogoi as vice presidents, Debakanta Buragohain as secretary, Dr Nipen Nayak as assistant secretary and Purna Kakoti as treasurer while Dr Surya Chutia, Principal of Tinsukia College, Dilip Kalita, former president of ASS, and Dr Jyoti Prasad Chaliha have been nominated as advisors.

The Tinsukia branch which was defunct and its functioning stalled due to pandemic and other reasons, was assured by the principal, Dr Chutia of providing infrastructural support to the branch while Dr Chaliha recalled the golden past of Science Society and advised several activities that the branch can take up involving various stakeholders.
