Newly-married Assamese girl dies in New Delhi, family suspects husband

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a newlywed girl from Assam who was living in the national capital New Delhi was found dead under mysterious circumstances. The girl's family has accused the husband of foul play and demanded an investigation into the matter.

The newly-married Assam girl passed away on Sunday at the Safdarjung Enclave in the national capital. According to reports, the Assamese girl had gotten married to a man called Abhijit Dhar on September 11 -- amid the ongoing lockdown restrictions due to the COVID crisis.

According to reports, the deceased woman's family has claimed that the statements made by the husband and his family do not quite add up. Therefore, they have not ruled out foul play.
