Newly Married Woman Found Dead In Assam's Lakhimpur

Guwahati: A newly married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Assam's Lakhimpur.

According to reports, the incident took place on Monday in the Bormuria area of the Lakhimpur district of Assam.

The deceased lady has been identified as Nabanita Sarma, a resident of Lakhimpur.

According to the in-laws of the woman, she died on Monday night after committing suicide in their house.

However, the family members of the deceased alleged that the in-laws are the reason behind the death of Nabanita.

The woman's husband has been identified as Khipradip Gogoi with whom she got married in December last year.

The family of the victim also accused her in-laws of harassing her since her marriage.

So far, no arrest has been made in this regard.

Later, when the incident came to light, the Nari Shakti Samaj, working for women empowerment in the area, came in support of Nabanita's family and raised their voice so that the victim gets justice.
