Number of COVID-19 deaths spiked to 54 in Tinsukia district

TINSUKIA: With the demise of Suresh Talukdar (53) of Panitola on Saturday, the number of COVID deaths spiked to 54 in Tinsukia district. Though the number of positive cases has been declining, 40 new positive cases were reported on Saturday that included Superintendent of Police Shiladitya Chetia and Additional Superintendent of Police Ripunjay Kakoti. Thus, the total number of positive cases has reached 4,611. However, 3,748 persons have been released from COVID hospitals/ Care Centres in Tinsukia district.
