NGO Jan Briddhi Foundation planted trees in Pathsala

PATHSALA: Jan Briddhi Foundation, an NGO formed by the youths of Bajali district started a massive tree plantation drive in the district. The drive aimed at plantation of 2,000 saplings across the district. It was started with an inaugural ceremony at Bajali Zilla Parishad campus. The drive was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister, Patacharkuchi MLA Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

The minister quoted a proverb by Jagatguru Srimanta Shankardev that herbs, shrubs and trees are the important part of our life. He also made statements about the climate change and explained why trees are important to us. The saplings which were planted during the inaugural ceremony were dedicated to some great personalities who made their contribution towards the environment like Padma Awardee Jadav Payeng, Sunderlal Bahuguna, Simon Oraon Minj, Shyam Sundar Paliwal etc.
