Nine gamblers arrested by Bongaigaon police

Bongaigaon: Bongaigaon police arrested nine gamblers on Thursday night. Talking to media persons, Upen Kalita, OC, Bongaigaon Police Station said that they got information about the gambling on Thursday night.

"Our team immediately moved to the spot. There was gambling going on in connection with Doul worship in the Dolaigaon area of Bongaigaon. Noticing the arrival of police, most of the gamblers fled away but we succeeded in nabbing nine gamblers. They were identified as Biswajit Ray, Ratan Brahma, Paresh Das, Loken Barman, Surat Ray, Sombaru Ram Ray, Bharat Mahato, Bhato Ray and Parameswar Brahma. Many materials used for gambling were also recovered there. The police team also recovered Rs 75,000 from the spot," the OC mentioned.
