Nirmala Sitharaman approves Rs 100 cr to revive Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Ltd in Namrup

State Minister Sarma also informed that she cleared a Cabinet note for Rs 100 crore will be provided as immediate revival package

Guwahati: Assam Health and Finance Minister announced today met Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharam to draw the Centre's attention to the ailing Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Ltd in Assam's Namrup.

Minister Sarma also informed that she cleared a Cabinet note for Rs 100 crore that shall be provided as immediate revival package to revive the plant.

Union Minister Nirmala Sitharam has also assured to hold discussions with Assam Government regarding the issue of long term measures.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated "Glad she instantly cleared a Cabinet note for Rs 100 cr as immediate revival package. She also assured to discuss with Assam Govt on long-term measures."
