NMC approves DM and MCH courses in AMCH

DIBRUGARH: Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMC&H), the premiere medical institute of the region, has stepped into the platinum jubilee year by completing its 75th year of existence.

On the eve of platinum jubilee year, the news of National Medical Council's (NMC) approval for opening up of DM and MCH courses in the AMC&H for the year 2021-2022 has invigorated the spirit and enthusiasm of the AMC&H fraternity.

Approval of three seats in DM Cardiology and two seats of MCH in Paediatric surgery by NMC, Dr Sanjib Kakoty, the Principal of AMC, said that it is a milestone development in the college since 1961, the year when the college got approval for MD in Medicine and Surgery. "NMC approval certainly has created a new era of medical education in this institute which was a long expected dream of the people of Assam," Dr Kakoty asserted.
