‘No dearth of petroleum-related & LPG services during lockdown’ Says Kushal Kumar Nath

LAKHIMPUR: There is no dearth of LPG and other petroleum services during the lockdown period in Lakhimpur and the adjacent area of the district. The LPG supply chain is well prepared for the lockdown period and there is plenty of LPG to go around for everyone.

It was informed by Kushal Kumar Nath, the Indian Oil Corporation Nodal officer of Lakhimpur district, in a press release.

In the press release, the Nodal officer stated, “All Indian Oil establishments, especially terminals and LPG bottling plants, are well stocked up and operating in full capacity to ensure that the wheels of the nation keep moving and the flames of the kitchen of the Indian customer keep burning. Our operating locations are also taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our employees and our channel partners. All our petrol pumps and LPG distributors are also functioning normally under the advisory of the State Government and local administration for maintaining essential services of petroleum products to the public.”

The Nodal Officer further informed through the press release that the IOC had taken up several welfare schemes in order to ensure the health issue and economic security of its employees during these crucial days of lockdown adopted in order combat against the COVID-19 menace.

“Indian Oil personnel like the LPG showroom staff, godown keepers, LPG mechanics and delivery boys, retail outlet customer attendants, truck drivers, including bulk/pack transporters, are at the forefront of this fight, risking their lives to ensure delivery of fuel to customer and fellow citizens. As a goodwill gesture and in recognition of the services rendered in this difficult times, an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh has been announced in case of death of any above mentioned personnel due to COVID-19. The scheme will be applicable to this zone too. The amount will be paid to the spouse of such personnel. In case the spouse is not there, the payment is to be made to the next of kin to the deceased. Indian Oil will also cover all these frontline fighters with a comprehensive medical insurance policy upto Rs. 1 lakh for a year which will also include any COVID-19 related ailments. Over three lakh people will be covered under this scheme which will also include the families of the insured personnel, limited to spouse and two dependent children up to the age of 25,” the press release stated.
