No hand in formation of new faction of ABBYSF: BTC Executive Member Jagdish Sarkar

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 20: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Executive Member Jagdish Sarkar, who is the in-charge of Soil Conservation and Transport departments, on Wednesday clarified that neither he nor the BPF was involved in the formation of the new All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (ABBYSF) headed by Bappa Dey and Manik Dey as the president and general secretary. The Muntu Dey faction of the ABBYSF on Thursday alleged that the BPF under the leadership of BTC EM Jagdish Sarkar was behind the formation of new committee of the federation with Bappa Dey as the president and Manik Dey as the general secretary.

Talking to reporters, Jagdish Sarkar, who is also the founder president of the ABBYSF, dismissed Muntu Dey’s charge and said that neither he nor the BPF had a role in the formation of the new faction of the federation.

He said, “I have been telling all the groups of the Bengali students’ organization to come under one platform and to work unitedly for the welfare of the community.” He said all Bengali organizations had to work together for the community as many genuine Bengali people were facing problems in the inclusion of their names in the NRC draft.
