No Plan to Shift ONGC, Assam Asset Nazira Office: ONGC

SIVASAGAR: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) has dismissed the reports which a section of media has reported that the office of the Executive Director and Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, Nazira would be shifting to Jorhat.

In a press communiqué issued on Wednesday, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd clarified that it had no such plans to shift the office of the Executive Director and Asset Manager, Assam Asset. Further, ONGC reiterated that the office would continue to remain at Nazira in order to monitor and utilize the resources effectively for operational purposes.

In addition to the office at Nazira, Executive Director and Asset Manager will also have an office at Sivasagar. The ED will mainly operate from Nazira and will also sit in Sivasagar office as and when required for operational purposes.

Further, ONGC has signed an MoU with the Government of Assam for investing more than Rs.13,000 crore during next five years in Assam for enhancing its exploration and production (E&P) activities. This investment is being made for drilling more than 220 oil and gas wells in the next five years.
