KOKRAJHAR: In a continuing attack against the present BTR government and successive State Governments for failing to evict the illegal encroachers in tribal belts and blocks in BTC and Assam, the Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) on Tuesday asserted that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was more dangerous than minority encroachers in BTR as they were adopting dominant policy to take away all rights of the indigenous tribal people of the State and BTR which should be resisted by any means.

In a statement, the president of the BJSM, Janaklal Basumatary said that no non-tribal, whether protected or non-protected class of people, would have land transaction right in BTC Sixth Schedule area if they have been staying after its creation in 2003. He said that only the permanent non-tribal residents eligible for staying in tribal belts and blocks under provision of ALLRR (Assam Land and Revenue Regulation) Act, 1886 as amended in 1947 before creation of BTC would have land transaction right in BTC Sixth Schedule area.

"No encroacher in tribal belts and blocks and current migrants from Bangladesh, Nepal, and other States of India will have land transaction right in BTC sixth schedule area. Thus, the land right is regulated by the provision of ALLRR Act, 1986 as amended in 1947 and the BTC sixth Schedule Act. 2003. The eviction law is not framed by BTC to evict the encroachers. It is the law of the land framed by the State and Central governments for protection of tribal people. So the ABMSU (All Bodoland Minority Students' Union) is wrong in blaming the BTC government for eviction proceeding against the encroachers," he said, adding that the student body should stop their myopic view on the eviction order issued by the Gauhati High Court.

Basumatary said the RSS was also wrong to target the eviction of minority people while misinterpreting the eviction law. He alleged that the RSS was more dangerous than the minority encroachers as they threatened to abolish the constitutional benefit of SC, ST, OBC and minority reservations. They wanted to reintroduce the high caste dominant society by monopolizing all State benefits as in the Vedic age.
