North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) bags shines in DU Youth Festival
North Lakhimpur College secured a total of 11 medals, in the folk-dance competition, the college bagged the gold medal for the second time.

LAKHIMPUR: North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) has added another feather in its cap by bagging the second best team title in the Youth Festival of the Dibrugarh University (DU). The mega event of the university was held at Digboi Women's College from February 1 to February 4.
North Lakhimpur College secured a total of 11 medals. In the folk-dance competition, the college bagged the gold medal for the second time. In the 'Sur-Samalay' competition of folk musical instruments, which was introduced for the first time in the festival, gold medal was secured by the team comprising of Kaushik Baruah, Jagadish Tamuli, Aditya Burhagohain, Saptarshi Mohan, Darpan Dutta, Prasurjya Gogoi, Dipankar Nath, Rimpi Burhagohain and Chayanika Baruah. Seema Kumari of the college bagged silver medal in Gajal competition, Soumit Das bagged silver medal in classical dance, Sarat Saikia bagged bronze medal in Rangoli competition, Koushik Baruah bagged bronze medal in dhol and gagana competition, Parismita Dutta bagged bronze medal in western song while team comprised of Sarat Saikia, Zubin Saikia, Shashanku Chetia, Bhagyashree Sarmah bagged bronze medal in installation competition.
On the other hand, Rimpi Burhagohain won the best actress title. The musical instrumentalists of the college team in the festival were Darpanjyoti Gogoi, Niranjan Das, Joyash Baruah, and Bitopan Gogoi. In the magazine competition, the North Lakhimpur College magazine received the second-best magazine honour while its editor Nabakanta Baruah grabbed the best editorial writer title.
