North Lakhimpur College Organized Second Book Fair

LAKHIMPUR: The second book fair organized by the North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) Publication kicked off in a festive environment in the college campus on Monday. The event was inaugurated by the college Principal Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia in a ceremonial programme held under the management of College Publication Committee co-ordinator Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa.

A galaxy of prominent academicians, the faculties and the students of the college were present in the inaugural programme. It was followed by a group discussion competition in the book fair premises with the participation of the students under the management of Dr. Susengpha Gogoi. In the evening, ceremonial lamps were lit on the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Lakshminath Bezbaroa. In connection with the programme, Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa delivered a speech on the contribution of the litterateur.

On Tuesday, a quiz competition was held in the book fair premises. On the other hand, a poet meet, titled as ‘Kavya Sandhya’ was held in the evening wherein a galaxy of noted poets of the State took part. Eminent publishers of the State have taken part in the book fair. Book lovers were seen thronging the fair in search of their favourite books. The event will conclude on October 17.
