North Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan closes down four wards in the town

LAKHIMPUR: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District magistrate of Lakhimpur, Sumit Sattawan has closed down entire area of Ward No. 11, Ward No. 12, Ward No. 13 and Ward No. 14 under North Lakhimpur town due to detection of alarming number of COVID-19 cases.

This order was issued in exercise of power conferred upon the District Magistrate under section 30(2) of Disaster Management Act, 2005 in view of curbing and for the containing further surge in COVID-19 contagion in the district in order to secure the public health from the emerging threat of the pandemic. The order has restricted public gathering in the market areas of the aforementioned wards until further order is issued. The same order has entrusted the Circle Officer of North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle and Executive Officer of North Lakhimpur Municipal Board to strictly monitor the enforcement of the order. Any violation of the order and COVID-19 protocol issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will invite strict legal actions as per provisions of the relevant rules and laws, stated the order.
