Northeast IAS, Super 100 scholarship test for civil service aspirants of NE

Guwahati: The North East Institute of Advanced Studies (Northeast IAS), one of the premier institutes for civil services examination, has announced Super 100-Scholarship worth of Rs 1 crore for deserving candidates of Assam and northeastern region for the year of 2020-2021. Through this scholarship test, the top 100 aspirants from the Northeast region preparing for Civil Services examination will be given scholarship who will be selected based on their performances in a test to be conducted on January 7 by the Institute, stated a press release.

The test is scheduled to be conducted in Guwahati, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Jorhat, Dibrugarh/Tinsukia, Itanagar, Shillong, and Imphal. The top 10 students will receive a 100 percent scholarship, 75 percent for the next 20 students, 50 percent for the next 40 and 30 percent scholarship for the next 30 students. The announcement was made in a press conference, held today at Guwahati.

The institute has produced a total of 9 numbers of successful candidates during the last two UPSC CSE examinations and more than 78 toppers in the State civil service examinations.

“This scheme has been conceptualized to provide the much-needed support to those deserving and meritorious students. This will go a long way for the talented youth of the northeastern region to compete at the national level. We did feel the need to come up with such a scholarship program which will allow more talented youth to have the opportunity to get training like this,” said Sankar Ray, Director of Northeast-IAS while addressing the press conference.

He further underlined the importance of quality guidance and mentoring as the only tool to transform the youth of Northeast India. He stated that the institute will provide intensive training and mentoring includes more than 900 hours of classroom coaching by nationally acclaimed faculty from Delhi and IAS toppers.
