Noted Academician, writer Sarbeswar Sut Baruah feted in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Appreciating his works and social contribution, social activist Bidya Gohain, the resident of Nakari under North Lakhimpur town, gave warm felicitation to Sarbeswar Sut Baruah, a noted academician and writer of Dhakuakhana living at Amolapatti. Holding a felicitation programme under his individual auspices in the residence of the academician, Bidya Gohain feted him with gamosa, chelengsador, xarai and a citation.

Retired from Dhakuakhana Model Higher Secondary School, SarbeswarSutBaruah has contributed a lot to the social life of Dhakuakhana as well as Lakhimpur district. He is popular as an active environment activist, theatre personality and social activist too. He is the founder of DhakuakhanaSankardevShishuBidyaNiketan and involved in the foundation of various social and academic institutions of the locality.

The programme, which was organized in order to felicitate the person, commenced with retired vice-principal of Dhakuakhana College and Dhakuakhana Senior Citizen Association president PurnanandaGogoi in the chair. Objective of the programme was explained by secretaryDhrubajyotiKonwar.

In the programme, BidyaGohain, environment activist DigendraNathHazarika, senior citizen BhuvanChamuah, BholanathGogoi, PurnaLahon, CheniramBaruah, JogeshBaruah delivered speech. On the other hand, SarbeswarSutBaruahruminated the experiences of his life from the days of his student life till day and the informative memories of socio-economic and cultural life of Dhakuakhana of the past days.
