DIBRUGARH: Former senior teacher of Little Flower School and Headmistress of Shree Agrasen Academy, noted educationist, Dipa Dam passed away at a local nursing home here due to COVID on October 7. She was 61.

Dipa Dam was the wife of Dr Pranab Kumar Dam, popularly known as Dr Babul Dam, a reputed physician of the town and a resident of Seujpur 4th bylane who died of COVID at Assam Medical College and Hospital on September 24. Dipa Dam is survived by two daughters, a son, and a host of relatives. Her last rite was performed by her son Dr Rajashree Dam, a renowned dentist, at the local cremation ground under strict COVID protocol.

An alumnus of Jadavpur University, West Bengal, she retired from Little Flower School, Dibrugarh after dedicated service for a period of 27 years. After her retirement, Dipa Dam joined Sri Agrasen Academy as Headmistress and retired from the Academy in 2013. Her death was widely mourned by her students, teachers and employees of both Little Flower School and Sri Agrasen Academy, besides her family members and her well-wishers.
