GAURISAGAR: Makhan Chandra Gogoi, noted educationist, social worker and a resident of no 2 Charing Baruwati village in Sivasagar passed away on Tuesday evening at a private hospital in Dibrugarh due to old age ailment. He was 84. He has been admitted in the hospital for last few days. Gogoi took his BA degree from Sibsagar college, Joysagar and joined Mbaulwagh School, Kohima, Nagaland as assistant teacher and got superannuation in 2000 as headmaster. Soon after retirement he was closely associated with various organizations in the locality. His demise was widely mourned. Various organizations like Senior Citizen Forum, Charing, AXX, Charing Branch, Charing Rax Mahutsav Kala Krishti Kendra, Junaki Silpi Samaj and many others organizations, individuals have condoled the demise of the noted educationist and social worker. He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters and a host of relatives.
