Noted social worker Harisaran Deka 's contribution recalled at Goreswar College

GORESWAR: With a view of paying tribute to Harisaran Deka, a noted social worker and retired teacher of Rangmahal village under Goreswar revenue circle in Baksa district, a day-long memorial day was organized under the aegis of Goreswar senior citizens’ body at Goreswar College on Saturday.

Following the floral tribute at the portrait of Harisaran Deka, several senior citizens of Goreswar lit earthen lamps. The memorial meeting was inaugurated by Maheswar Basumatary, EM of BTC, and it was presided over by Dr. Khargeswar Deka, Principal of Goreswar College.

In his inaugural speech, Maheswar Basumatary recollected the contribution of the social worker. Attending the memorial meet, Hari Deka, senior advocate of Gauhati High Court, shed light on the life of Deka. Writer Bhanu Deka released Abhigyan, a book written in memory of Harisaran Deka, at the memorial meet.
