Noted theatre personality Rantu Bagchi passes away in Silchar

SILCHAR: Noted theatre personality of Barak Valley, Sunirmal Bagchi, popularly known as Rantu Bagchi, died here on Saturday early morning in a private hospital. Bagchi (80) was admitted in the hospital for last 19 days. On Saturday at around 4 pm he breathed his last. Bagchi leaves behind two sons.

Rantu Bagchi earned laurels as a ‘master of light’ in the proscenium theatre in Barak Valley. By profession, a businessman. Bagchi was actively associated with the stage works.
