Novel 'Eta Nirjatita Kalam' released in Nalbari

NALBARI: Eta Nirjatita Kalam, a novel written by Manash Jyoti Sarma and published by Sankardev Prakashan, Nagaon was released on Sunday evening at Nandeswar Saikia Sabhagriha, Nalbari. The function was inaugurated by the chief editor of Amar Nalbari, Wahiduj Jaman. It was preceded by a solo tabla play by Manimugddha Upanash, an approved artiste of All India Radio. Dr Binoy Kumar Majumdar, a noted poet, M Mahibar Brahman, the chief editor of Axomtime and senior journalist of Asomiya Pratidin, Sashanka Sarma joined the function as chief guests. The novel is based on inter caste marriage of a couple and the social exploitation on them by the upper strata of people. Dr Sushanta Kumar Kashyap, a columnist released the novel and said, "Assamese novels should target the common readers unlike the researched works done for the intellectuals only." Noted poet Nibedita Hazarika conducted the function.
