

Numaligarh: Numaligarh Refinery Limited has initiated a purposeful technical education programme for 53 youths of its surrounding area in AICTE affiliated NTTF, Bangalore. Of late, after completion of 4 months of intensive training under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), they have been awarded certificates from Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India on October 4. Debasis Choudhary, CGM (HR), Rajkamal Saikia, DGM (Social Responsibility) and Ripun Saikia, member CSR, Numaligarh Refinery Limited were present at the convocation. Out of those 53 trainees, 26 completed CNC operator training and rest 27 Fitter Mechanical Assembly. For this purpose, NRL selected youths from underprivileged section from the surrounding area on November 20, 2017 and sent them to NTTF, Bangalore. The training started on December 1, 2017 and completed on March 20, 2018.
Further all the trainees who completed the certificate course have been deputed to Schneider under National Employability Environment Mission (NEEM) in the aegis of NTTF for hands on learning along with classroom learning to give them a leg up in the workforce. It is a 3 year diploma course through on-the-job practical training with a stipend of Rs. 9600 per month. In an interaction with mediapersons, the enthusiastic youths expressed their immense pleasure and gratitude towards NRL for providing a conducive environment for developing high level motivation, skill and zeal to bring changes among themselves, a press release stated.
