Numaligarh Refinery Limited observes Vigilance Awareness Week

NUMALIGARH: Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) for the year 2021 was observed at Numaligarh Refinery Limited from October 26 to November 1 with the theme 'Independent India @75: Self-reliance with Integrity'. Vigilance Awareness Week – 2021 at NRL commenced with the integrity pledge taken by employees of the Company at all locations. All initiatives during the week were taken up as per CVC directives and under guidance of NRL CVO Rajiv Kumar Gupta, IFS.

Various in-house and outreach activities were undertaken to sensitize and reaffirm the collective responsibility towards integrity and probity in public life. In-house programmes like a webinar on 'Preventive Vigilance and Awareness of PIDPI', quiz, essay, slogan competitions etc. were held for NRL employees/CISF unit and their family members.

Many outreach activities were conducted during the week. About 600 students from 40 different schools under Golaghat District, Dergaon Town, Delhi Public School at Numaligarh and Siliguri location had participated in competitions like quiz, debate, essay, slogan, poster making etc. In a visible contribution towards creating mass awareness, 100 youngsters joined in the Walkathon organized at Golaghat town in association with Golaghat District Sports Association. About 53 enlisted vendors of NRL participated in the vendor meet organised during the week where discussions were held about transparency in procurement in NRL context, vendor's role and vigilance mechanism. During the discussion, vendor's queries on tendering process were addressed by NRL. To sensitize citizens on ill-effects of corruption, a 'Gram Sabha' at Napathar Village, Numaligarh was organized during the week and about 60 citizens were present in the programme, stated a press release.
