Numaligarh Refinery Limited organizes Saksham 2022 cyclothon in Jorhat

NUMALIGARH: About 200 enthusiastic cyclists took part in the Saksham 2022 Cyclothon organized by Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) on Monday in Jorhat as part of Saksham 2022 Cyclothon being observed in 300 cities simultaneously across the country organized by Oil and Gas PSUs. The cycle rally was flagged off by chief guest Jorhat DC Ashok Kumar Barman, guest of honour, Jorhat SP Mohan Lal Meena in the presence of veteran actor Reena Bora, well known social worker Dr. Bolin Khargharia, senior NRL officials and other distinguished citizens of Jorhat along with the participating cyclists. The rally followed a 10km route from Jorhat Stadium - Lichubari- Sadar- Gar Ali via KB Road and back to the stadium.

Earlier, Sr CGM(CA) NRL Nikunja Borthakur welcomed the gathering and enunciated about Saksham and its objectives. The Saksham pledge was administered by DGM (Corporate Communications) NRL Madhuchanda Adhikari.

Jorhat DC in his address exhorted the youths and children to make cycling a part of their daily life to stay healthy and fit. SP Mohan Lal Meena thanked NRL for the initiative taken in promoting cycling in Jorhat. Reena Bora implored the youth to take up cycling and help save precious fuels, while conserving nature, stated a press release.
