Oath-taking ceremony of AAGSU held at Sootea under Biswanath district

JAMUGURIHAT: The oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed Sootea regional committee of AAGSU (All Assam Gorkha Student's Union) was held at Balighat, Sootea under Biswanath district with Bhuban Subedi in the chair on Saturday. The programme began with a chorus followed by paying homage to the martyrs by Ajay Karki and Damudar Subedi, president and secretary of Sootea AAGSU respectively. All the members of the newly formed Sootea regional committee of AAGSU were sworn-in by Pranab Baskota, organizing secretary of Biswanath district AAGSU.

The public meeting was addressed by Dilip Gajurel, vice president of central executive body of AAGSU, Dr. Chintamoni Sarma; principal of Biswanath College along with others. In between the meeting, Sahitya Akademi's Young Writers Award, 2020 winning writer Anjan Baskota was felicitated with a citation, Gorkha cap along with a packet of books. The meeting was also attended by Ghanalal Biswakarma, secretary of Biswanath district AAGSU, Gobinda Chetry, Lekhnath Bharali, Joy Kumar Newar, Sagar Sapkota, Anup Sarma, Kalpana Devi, Indra Karki along with others. Prakash Khanal; vice president of Biswanath district AAGSU conducted all the proceedings of the meeting.
