Obituary: Deva Kumar Upadhyaya

A retired teacher and social worker of Gamiri under Gohpur subdivision in Biswanath district, Deva Kumar Upadhyaya breathed his last on July 13 in a hospital in Chandigarh after a protracted illness. He was 70.

Upadhyaya retired from Gamiri High School in 2012 after rendering his service as an Assistant Teacher for 35 long years. He was associated with a good number of social organizations, including Sahitya Sabha, Maina Parijat, Shankerdev Shishu Niketan and Kavi Sanmilan. He leaves behind two daughters, a son and a host of relatives. His demise was mourned by local organizations.
