Obituary: Jayanta Boruah

Prominent social activist of Dhekiajuli, Jayanta Boruah breathed his last at the Tezpur Mission Hospital on April 12.

Besides being an activist of the Assam Movement, he was the founder secretary of the Dhekiajuli unit of AGP (Asom Gana Parishad), former vice-chairman of the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board, an associate member of the Dhekiajuli Central Rongali Bihu Sanmilan and also member of the Dhekiajuli Sports Association.

Various organizations and citizens of Sonitpur district and APCC spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharjee have condoled his demise.

Jayanta Boruah resided at Tezpur Dhanuwa Nagar. He leaves behind his wife — Pakhi Boruah, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
