Naren Nath Bhattacharya, retired Vice-Principal of Chariali HS and MP School,

Naren Nath Bhattacharya, retired Vice-Principal of Chariali HS and MP School, writer, actor and a social worker passed away on September 7 at his residence at Garehagi, Biswanath Chariali. He was 83.

Bhattacharya was associated with a good number of social organizations of Biswanath Chariali. He held the post of president of Biswanath Chariali Sahitya Sabha for four consecutive terms. He was also instrumental in setting up of several schools, colleges and libraries. He leaves behind his wife, a son, three daughters and a host of relatives. Bhattacharya's death was widely mourned.
